I moved to Toronto from Nanaimo, BC, for a relationship I already knew wasn't going to work out. Not happily, anyway. But I really, really, really needed to get out of that town so I used this woman to those ends. Not one of my finer moments. Meanwhile, I at least tried to convince myself that things were "good enough" and the best anyone could realistically hope for. I think I even bought it. She didn't.
