Feathers

from Wilderness by The Urbane Decay

about

Modelled after Stina Nordenstam's "Soon After Christmas (a much better song), this was about A.M, the main subject of the "...Has Never Kissed a Girl" album. After she got together with her future husband, I pretty much spiraled into depression and drink.

lyrics

The light is falling like feathers
From the window to the floor
And the silence is curling like smoke
From underneath the door
There isn't quite any colour
There isn't quite any taste
So I sit here drinking wine
Waiting for the day to waste away

The light is falling like feathers
Turning my blue eyes grey
And the silence is curling like smoke
Burning a cigarette away
Nothing has any texture
There isn't quite any sound
And I listen my watch counting
All the minutes I've spent

Dreaming of you falling like feathers
All around my bed
Your kisses falling like feathers
All around my head

The light is falling like feathers
The light is curling like smoke
The silence lays dead on the floor
Like a vase that broke
The sky closes its eyes
The city falls asleep
And I sit here drinking wine
With the dreams I used to keep

Dreaming of you falling like feathers
All around my bed
Your kisses falling like feathers
All around my head
Dreaming of you falling like feathers
Dreaming of your kisses falling like feathers
Alone in my bed
