This was about a situation from a few years prior to the recording. I was sleeping with a friend of mine who had a long term boyfriend and, I was unaware at the time, was still on-again, off-again with another good friend of mine. Mainly, I felt I needed someone to sleep with because I'd broken up with a girl over a non-physical affair I'd had with a co-worker (see the album "Depleted" and the song "Bent Hearts" on the "Crushed" EP). I felt I'd paid for an empty glass, as a friend said, so I might as well fill it up. As it turned out, sleeping with my friend didn't help. At all. Obviously.
