Like with "Teenage Love Song" at the start of this album, I didn't want my usual autobiographical style to tip my hand to my girlfriend that our relationship was a sham and I didn't love her. So instead I wrote songs about past events. This one goes way back to grade eight. I never did have the guts to ask a girl to dance. Which, it would seem, is lucky for them.
