about

I don't know why I used the British term "crisps" for potato chips. I guess because of the shoegazey guitars. Otherwise I feel like this could almost fit as a b-side on a single from 'Mellow Gold', lyrically and guitar-wise at least. Basically this whole album is trying (and failing) to rewrite 'Totally Kunfused' by Beck (a b-side on the 'Beercan' single) and 'As Bad as it Seems' by Hayden. To varying degrees of success and failure.

lyrics

It's a west coast state of mind
Everyone's urine tastes like brine
Gimme some of yours
I'll give you some of mine
It's a west coast state of mind

It shouldn't be hard like this
Like being drunk opening a packet of crisps

It's a rust coast state of mind
Everyones bile tastes like wine
I drank of yours
Now you you drink some of mine
It's a rust coast state of mind

It wasn't supposed to be hard like this
Like opening a packet of crisps
It wasn't supposed to be hard like this
Like being drunk and opening crisps
