about

After the woman in Toronto I moved here to be with got wise to my indifference to her and moved out, I began crushing on a girl who worked at a video store across the street. She had a boyfriend, of course (see also "It's Not Like I've Never hurt Before" on the album "Dreambeat"). Long after this song was written, I found out she was polyamourous (though I think that particular boyfriend wasn't down with it) and felt an extra sting as that must mean she really, really didn't fancy me. Anyway, we're still friends.

lyrics

Your voice smells like ice cream
It tastes like sunshine
It feels like music and joy

Except for this bitter aftertaste in my mouth
Because I found out
You already have a boy

Is it gonna get weird between is now?
It would have eventually anyhow

This always get weird
This always get weird
This always get weird
Around me anyhow

At least you like boys
At least you're not queer
I usually fall for lesbians
Who are looking for a beard

This always get weird
This always get weird
This always get weird
Around me
