about

I had this weird fantasy of buying Western Polytechnic in Toronto's west end and turning it into a commune.

lyrics

If I won several million dollars
I'd buy the old polytechnic
And I'd live in it alone
But not quite alone

I'd rent the classrooms out to friends
We'd share the cafeteria kitchen
And fill it up with other people
With cats and goldfish and children

Yet I'd still be living there alone
But not quite alone

We'd put on plays
We'd make art
We'd hold concerts
And turn the soccer field into a garden
And all our neighbours would be amazed
How well we got along together

Living together
But living alone
But not quite
Alone
Not quite
Alone
Not quite
Alone
Not quite
Alone
